Ingredients
-
Two shots / 50 ml (1.5 ft oz) Espresso
-
1 tablespoon Crème de Cacao
-
1 tablespoon Kahlúa
-
50 ml (1.5 ft oz) Vodka
Directions
This is an elegant drink that can be enjoyed with or without the added sweetness of a chocolate liqueur such as Crème de Cacao. If you don’t want to use the Crème de Cacao, double your quantity of Kahlua.
The famous Espresso Martini is a top drink and a classic Kahlua cocktail. Invented by the famous late bartender Dick Bradsell, as a peculiar request from a British top model in his London bar in 1983. The Espresso Martini is a cocktail with a story, a history and a legacy.
Prepare the espresso coffee beforehand and let it chill. That will help to minimize the dilution, and make your drink colder and even tastier!

Prepare Coffee1. Using the technique, brew two shots/50ml (1.5 fl oz) of espresso. Let it cool slightly. 2. Combine the coffee with 1 tablespoon Crème de Cacao, 1 tablespoon Kahlua, and 50ml (1.5 fl oz) vodka in a cocktail shaker. Add ice cubes and shake well. If you combine the espresso and alcohol first, the liquid will be cooler and the ice cubes won’t melt as much. 3. SERVE IT UP - Double strain into the glass, garnish the foam with 3 coffee beans and serve. Notes • When shaking: Remember to wake the drink to life, do not rock it to bed. That will also improve the frothy foam on top of your final drink. • When straining: Make sure to pour the drink briskly and swiftly from your shaker. That will help get all that beautiful foam out and land on top of your drink. |
